We are pleased to inform you that the Call for Applicants for the Western Balkans – Visegrad Fellowship is now officially open.

Following the success of the first two editions, during which 85 fellows benefited from this opportunity, the Fellowship Programme once again invites doctoral enrolled students and PhD holders from the Western Balkans to apply for a fully funded fellowship of up to 10 weeks at an institution of their choice in the Visegrad region (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia).

This Fellowship Programme is jointly implemented by the Western Balkans Fund and the International Visegrad Fund, with the aim of strengthening academic exchange, research cooperation, and people-to-people ties between the two regions.

The key details of the Call are as follows:

Eligibility: Doctoral enrolled students or holders of a doctoral degree
Location: Institutions of choice in the V4 countries or the Western Balkans
Duration: 2 to 10 weeks
Financial Support: EUR 500 per week, plus travel expenses
Deadline: 17 May 2026
Implementation Period: From September 2026 until June 2027
